Deep River Meeting House and Friend Burial Ground are located in the western part of Guilford County. The trail begins as gravel and dirt then turns into steps made of wood and stone. Trail meanders through pines and hardwoods filled with boulders, mountain laurel, scenic views, and the occasional deer or turkey. The property is located at the confluence of Deep River and Bear Creek, about four miles north of Robbins in northern Moore County, NC. Access is from Hussey Road (SR 1496), which dead-ends on the propertyįrom Robbins, take highway 705 North and turn right unto SR 1470 at the edge of town. After 2 miles, turn left on SR 1419 (Reynolds Mill Rd), go about 1 mile, turn right onto SR 1496 (Hussey Rd), follow to end of pavement (there will be a house on your left). Continue driving beyond pavement for several hundred feet, bear to the right onto the property. Look for a sign and flagging. The nature scenery of Randolph County and the cool fresh water have people coming here. Deep River Loop Trail is a loop trail that takes you by a river located near High Point, North Carolina. The property contains many deer and turkeys. Several rocky streams flow through property. The topography is varied from nearly level to steep bluffs along the river. Four acres contain old fields which could easily be cleared and used as fields or food plots. The bulk of the property contains hardwood timber. As the highest point in the East, Mount Mitchell’s 6,684-foot summit overlook platform affords some of the longest mountain views in North Carolina. This is a beautiful float with lots of scenery, including paddling under two very old train bridges. With two miles of excellent interior roads, all areas of the property are easily accessible by vehicle. The Deep River is the eastern boundary for approximately 2,304 feet, while Bear Creek forms the southern and western boundary lines for approximately 4,111 feet. Hussey Road is the only access to this property.
